Andrea Gobbi

Engineer, music producer, multiinstrumentalist and composer Andrea Gobbi is from Rome, Italy. He moved to Scotland in 2001, where he began putting together his own recording and music production studio, Carrier Waves. After receiving his Diploma in Audio Engineering at SAE, he started his career as a composer of electronic music, writing for small film and theatre productions in Scotland and collaborating with Scottish musicians.

In 2013, three Scottish albums produced/engineered by Andrea were mentioned in The Scottish Herald’s ‘Top 50 Albums of The Year’: Turn All Memory to White Noise by Laki Mera; Later…When the TV Turns To Static by Glasvegas and Airfix by Ross Ainslie and Jarlath Henderson.

Andrea was founder member of Laki Mera, a leading Glasgow electronic and acoustic group. This project is constantly pushing the boundaries of electronic music, merging it with acoustic and vocal arrangements and employing live samples of machinery, scratches and glitches.

Andrea has been working as a live sound engineer for The Treacherous Orchestra, the 12 piece Scottish Folk ‘supergroup’, for the last 5 years.
